ELECTRONIC SPECIFICATIONS & PROOFING We would be happy to design your project. Our prepress staff have graphic arts experience and are able to pull a project together creatively and effectively, and meet your print requirements efficiently. Please provide the copy and any art, photos or logos that you may have. If any of these items can be furnished in electronic format, so much the better! We have hundreds of fonts, art and photos to choose from to help illustrate your project. If you are providing a graphics file, please note the following requirements: Acceptable software formats are Quark, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Freehand, EPS, TIFF, or PDF from either Mac or PC platforms. Word, Corel Draw, Printshop, Publisher, and PowerPoint files will be converted to PDF or reset. (Marty-edit list on website and add here????) 1. Digital art or photos must be 300 dpi or higher for best reproduction. GIF files pulled from the web are usually very low resolution and will not print suitably. The same goes for low resolution photos—as a rule of thumb, anything under 100k is usually poor quality. 2. Color files should have all elements specified in CMYK or PMS (Pantone Matching System) spot colors, not RGB. If we are digitally producing the file, RGB may work, but not when we offset print. If you are creating the file, try to specify built colors to match PMS colors, not your monitor’s screen. That way, we can technically match your colors. Our systems are color calibrated for quality control. 3. Please provide hard copy, if at all possible, it makes the task so much faster of verifying that your layout is imaging correctly and meets the finishing requirements. We will require a visual check from you of a proof, either as PDF or hard copy. 4. Files may be emailed, sent on CD or we will pick up your files. Files furnished to us will be removed from our system within 10 days of finishing your project unless you request we archive it. We archive permanently any jobs we create. We cannot save your fonts, nor can we send you our fonts. We abide by all copyright laws.
